1. Who We Are

Hatch And Learn rents chick hatching kits to families, schools and daycares in southern Ontario. We’re located at 9A Erb St East, Waterloo, ON N2J 1L4. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run your booking:

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your delivery address
  • Your school, daycare or organization name, if you’re booking for one
  • Payment details, which are handled by our payment processor. We don’t store full card numbers.
  • Messages you send us by email, text or our contact form
  • Information about how you use our website, collected by the tools described in section 5

3. How We Use It

We use your information to:

  • Confirm and manage your booking
  • Deliver, set up and pick up your kit
  • Send instructions and answer your questions during your session
  • Process payments and refunds
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations

We don’t use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.

4. Who We Share It With

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the business: our payment processor (Stripe), our website contact form service (Web3Forms), our email provider, and the analytics and advertising tools described in section 5 (Google and Meta). They may use it only to provide their service to us.
  • Government or law enforcement, where required by law

Some of these service providers are located outside Canada, mainly in the United States. Your information may be stored and processed there and may be accessible to authorities under the laws of those countries.

5. Website and Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to understand how visitors use it. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages they view and how they found us. We may also use advertising tools, such as the Meta Pixel and Google Ads, to show our ads to people who have visited our site and to measure how well those ads work. These tools use cookies to collect information about your visit, like the pages you view, your browser and device, and your approximate location, but not your name or contact details.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and out of personalized ads through Meta ad preferences, Google Ad Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

6. How Long We Keep It

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the program and meet our legal and tax obligations. After that, we delete it or make sure it can no longer identify you.

7. How We Protect It

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access. Access is limited to the people who need it to run your booking.

8. Your Choices

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that’s wrong
  • Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons
  • Stop contacting you about anything other than your booking

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
